Most people searching for a villa in Isla Mujeres are really asking two questions at once: can we all stay together, and do we get the place to ourselves? Those are different things, and the answer changes depending on which property you are looking at.
Here is exactly how both of our properties work, with the details people usually have to email us for.
Can you rent an entire villa in Isla Mujeres?
Yes. Villa Chan Kah is rented as one whole property. You are not booking a room inside a shared house, and you are not sharing the pool with other guests. The whole villa goes to one group at a time.
That is worth saying plainly, because on booking sites a listing that looks like a villa is often a single room inside one. When you book Villa Chan Kah, the entire beachfront property is yours for the length of your stay.
How many people fit in Villa Chan Kah?
Up to 16 guests in total, across 6 bedrooms. That number includes adults and children alike, and it is the maximum for the stay.
Sixteen is the honest ceiling, not an optimistic one. If your group is larger than that, we would rather tell you now than have you arrive and find out.
What comes with it: beachfront access, a private swimming pool and jacuzzi, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, parking, towels and sun loungers, bottled water, laundry service on request, and a virtual concierge and vacation planner to help you organize the stay.
Traveling with a smaller group? Sierra Mar works differently
Sierra Mar is rented by the apartment, not as a whole building. Each unit holds up to 6 guests, adults and children included.
So the simple rule is this: if you are a large group that wants one roof and one pool, that is Villa Chan Kah. If you are a couple, a family, or a small group who wants a sea view apartment on the island, that is Sierra Mar.
Check-in, check-out and minimum stay
- Check-in: 3:00 p.m.
- Check-out: 12:00 p.m.
- Villa Chan Kah minimum stay: 2 nights, and 3 nights over Christmas and New Year.
- Sierra Mar minimum stay: no minimum, except 2 nights over Christmas and New Year.
Both properties keep the same check-in and check-out times.
What is not available, so nobody is surprised
We would rather be clear about this up front than have you plan around something we do not offer.
Pets are not accepted at either property, including emotional support animals.
Neither property is set up for events. Villa Chan Kah is not intended for events, and Sierra Mar is for lodging only. We are open to reviewing particular cases, but it is not what these homes are built for, and we do not offer decoration or music services.
What we can help with: if you would like a private chef during your stay, we have a contact who can quote it for you. It needs at least 7 days’ notice and is subject to availability and to the chef’s own quote. We pass you the contact rather than coordinating the service ourselves.
Why book direct instead of through a booking site
Booking sites add their commission on top of the rate. Booking direct with us skips that markup, and it puts you in touch with the people who actually manage the property, so questions about the villa get answered by someone who has been inside it.
